Sam versus other dune points
Sam is the main dune visitors ask for. It is busier at sunset and has the most camps, which means more choice of tent type and easier pickup. If you want a quieter patch, say so and we will suggest a camp set back from the main parking.
What to carry
A light jacket from November to February, closed shoes for the sand, and a power bank. Camp electricity is enough for lights and a fan, not for charging a whole group at once.
Same-day stays
Same-day tents are often open if you message before afternoon. After sunset the good tents are usually gone, especially on weekends and in December.
Questions
Is Sam Sand Dunes the same as the desert camp?
The dunes are the place. The camp is the tent stay built beside them. Booking a Sam camp means both.
Do I need my own car?
No. We can add a cab from your hotel to the camp and back.
