What a camp night includes
Most camps include a Swiss or luxury tent, evening tea, a Rajasthani dinner, a cultural show and either a camel or jeep ride on the dunes. Breakfast is usually included. Air-cooling, an attached washroom and a pickup from your Jaisalmer hotel are the points worth confirming before you pay.
When to go
October to March is the comfortable season. December and January nights are cold, so ask for extra blankets. Summer camps still run, but the day is harsh and the evening is the only pleasant window. Sunset arrival is the timing that works for almost every group.

Sam Sand Dunes camps are about 40 to 45 kilometres from the fort, roughly an hour by car.
